2016 Season Coming to An End

The 2016 golf season may be coming to an end but the last few weeks have certainly been busy ones at PVGCC.

The “Wally Harper Tournament” was held on September 12, 2016 with a field of 77 golfers. Guy McKnight of Country Meadows took top honours with a score of 71.

PVGCC’s Laura Wesselius participated in the “Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour’s International Team Challenge” in Welland Ontario in September.  Laura had rounds of 78 – 80, for a 36 hole total of 158. Laura finished in 9th place, 9 strokes back.

On September 24th the annual Fall Scramble was held with 120 ladies participating. We had 18 clubs represented as well as 4 public players. Low Gross of the field was won by Vicky Haddad and Jennifer Hyett of Country Medows with a score of 71. PVCGCC’s own Pat Robinson and Lana Manuge took the Low Net of the Field honours with a score of 53.

The “Rick Middleton Celebrity Golf Classic” in partnership with Burgess Transportation Services, was held at the Club on Saturday, October 1, 2016. The field consisted of 18 teams, who were treated to great conditions, and a beautiful day! The winning foursome with a gross score of minus 11, were Scott Burgess, Braeden Burgess, Andrew Steeves and Wayne Chambers. All participants were treated to a great “Hot Stove” prior to a delicious roast beef dinner.  Rick Middleton really enjoyed being driven around in one of Terry Alwards  “official” Boston Bruin golf carts!

The “Petitcodiac Valley Golf & Country Club 3 Man Scramble” was held on October 8/16 with 40 Teams, from 13 Clubs participating. Four teams were tied @ 62 – 9 under par, after 18 holes of play. All four teams went to # 7 for the shootout, with no team putting a ball on the green after the first round! On their second attempt the team of Strang, Middleton and Pitman from Sussex/Fundy won the tournament!
